The projects of S.E.R. support the UN Millennium Development Goals—MDGs—in particular, the goals of development, poverty reduction and lasting environmental care.
Customarily, people in impoverished areas had been able to care for themselves; however, the connection to their ancient knowledge and roots has been broken due to external events such as the destruction of their lands and culture. Therefore, development based solely on economic aspects fails to lend lasting and durable progress.
Hence, S.E.R. focuses within the Development Projects on the importance of regaining the ancient knowledge of people, as well as preserving their social and cultural roots for stable communities, mutual behaviour and respectful treatment of nature, creativity and inspiration, that is essential to permanent progress.
